Minister ensures quality of learning facility at SMA Taruna Nusantara
Indonesia’s Minister of Defense, Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, visited SMA Taruna Nusantara campus in Cimahi, West Java, on Monday (Feb. 23) to ensure that students are receiving adequate educational facilities.
“I conducted a meeting and direct inspection at SMA Taruna Nusantara Cimahi Campus to ensure that infrastructure development, governance, and the operational quality of education are aligned with the country’s strategic direction,” Sjafrie said in an official press statement received in Jakarta
According to the statement, the minister inspected several school facilities, ranging from the Aeronautics and Biology laboratories to the kitchen area.
In addition to reviewing the facilities, Sjafrie also examined the quality of teachers and the curriculum being delivered to students.
He emphasized that the curriculum and teaching standards at SMA Taruna Nusantara must be maintained to ensure a strong learning system.
“I encourage the strengthening of the STEM curriculum, improving teacher quality through rigorous competency- and psychology-based selection, and the development of integrated farming programs as part of character building, independence, and food security education,” Sjafrie said.
He also urged teachers and school administrators to implement effective supervision and student mentoring systems to instill discipline from an early stage.
Sjafrie expressed hope that the visit would motivate school leaders to further enhance the quality of education at SMA Taruna Nusantara.
He also called on students to remain committed to their studies during their time at the institution.
“To the students of SMA Taruna Nusantara Cimahi Campus, I urge you to continue striving toward your aspirations as your best form of service to the nation and the state,” he said.
