Global creators key for wider creative product reach: dy minister

Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar assessed that collaboration with global content creators can be an effective strategy to expand the global reach of Indonesian creative economy products' promotion.

This was highlighted by the deputy minister during a meeting with Irish-Japanese content creator Yuji Beleza at the office of the Ministry of Creative Economy in Jakarta

In the meeting, Umar emphasized that the involvement of global content creators like Beleza can open up doors for Indonesian cultural narratives to reach the global audience more intensively.

"Collaboration with global creators allows Indonesian cultural narratives to reach a wider global audience, while also opening up new cooperation opportunities for Indonesian creative economy players," she said in a statement on Saturday.

During his visit, Beleza viewed various contemporary craft and design works curated by the Ministry of Creative Economy, and tasted Indonesian traditional herbal medicine (jamu) and snacks.

The deputy minister noted that the direct experience of global creators with Indonesian cuisine and culture can enrich cross-country content production.

According to her, this approach not only expands promotion but also strengthens the position of the creative economy as a new driver of economic growth and Indonesia's creative identity.

The Ministry of Creative Economy views this visit as a momentum to encourage integrated promotion across the culinary, wellness, and local creative product sectors.

This step is expected to broaden the footprint of Indonesia's narratives on global platforms and bolster the competitiveness of the national creative economy in the global market.

"This visit is an initial momentum to open up opportunities for cross-country content production that can promote the wealth of Indonesia's creative economy to the global audience," she said.
